At the invitation of the Vincent van Gogh Home in Zundert, Han Klinkhamer worked as “artist in residence” in November of 2011. In Van Gogh’s spirit, he wandered through the countryside and was inspired by the places which were also observed by van Gogh. Nature as a source of and inspiration for art is of all time and he takes pleasure in sharing this with his illustrious predecessor. Days in November are short and he only had a limited number of hours at his disposal. Therefore, he also started to make drawings on his i-Pad in the evenings. He thought it would be interesting to portray and communicate his trade by way of this modern tool. Daily, via the e-mail, he sent an i-Pad drawing to interested people who had registered for this novelty.
The pictures were also published on face book and on the web log: vangoghartistinresidence.tumbler.com. the reactions to these digital publications were so enthusiastic that Han Klinkhamer decided to publish the entire series of 30 i-Pad drawings as ‘artist prints’ in a limited edition of 50. The drawings are printed on high res on hand-dipped paper of the mulberry tree, numbered and autographed by the artist, size 21x29 cm. and put onto japonica paper ( 29 x 37 cm.). These “artist prints” are for sale for €75 per drawing; the entire series of 30 prints in a luxury box ( 10 editions) costs €1500.
